Silver Compass Tours recognised for 'Excellence in Food Tourism'
WINS BRONZE AT 2019 REGIONAL TOURISM AWARDS.
Silver Compass Tours was awarded Bronze in the ‘Excellence in Food Tourism’ category at the recent 2019 Regional Tourism Awards held in Dubbo for the combined Destination Country & Outback and Riverina Murray regions.
“This was the first year Silver Compass Tours has entered the awards, so it’s a great result to be officially recognised for our efforts by the regional tourism industry,” says Kelly Picarazzi, Owner & Founder of Silver Compass Tours.
The submission focused on new food and wine tourism products introduced by Silver Compass Tours in the past 12 months, including the Provenance Express to the Orange FOOD Week festival and the inaugural Roaring Days food and wine trail with a bushranger twist.
It also included collaborative support Silver Compass Tours had provided in developing and delivering a strategy for increasing Chinese visitation to the Orange wine region, with noticeable positive impact on implementation.
Feedback from the judges was extremely positive: “A great submission showing how food and produce sourced from the Orange region underpins your business. The collaboration you have with local suppliers and producers is great to see and your passion for local produce is evident.”
