The Provenance Express is a 3-day hosted Experience Package with a carefully curated & hand-selected itinerary for discovery of the Orange food and wine region developed by us as locally-based tour operators. We live here, and we love it. We have designed our experiences especially to give you a real insider’s taste of living like a local and meeting passionate local producers in our marvellous and abundant food and wine country in regional New South Wales, Australia.
Onboard food & wine tastings with local vigneron and producer; a Welcome Lunch at Groundstone Cafe and ‘Paddock to Plate’ exhibition visit at Orange Regional Museum; an organic chocolate tasting & wine pairing; the Festival Night Market; organic farm & vineyard visit – figs, olives, olive oil and wine, with a tour of the on-site sustainable community, wine and produce tasting plus a long table lunch in the strawbale winery; additional organic & biodynamic cellar door visits and wine-tastings; a festival dinner event at Cargo Road Wines with Franklin Road Kitchens – free range pig on a spit with honey glazed pumpkin, organic salad, homemade preserves, and crème caramel with seasonal poached fruit; a Sparkling Sunday breakfast at Nile Street Cafe; farm gate and local produce store visit for seasonal produce; stone-fruit orchard visit and morning tea; a vineyard ramble and wine-tasting; and lunch in a woolshed on a vineyard featuring local organic and seasonal produce.
We’re really excited about what we’ve got in store for you on Saturday – we will be spending the day at Rosnay Organic Farm & Vineyard in Canowindra. It’s a scenic hour’s drive from Orange, through some of our finest local agricultural land. We will be taking a walk through Rosnay’s organic fig and olive orchards and the organic vineyard. The property is also home to a sustainable community of 12 households built with sustainable practices and we will be having a unique insider’s peek into a gorgeous strawbale house (you’ll want to move in, we guarantee you!). At Rosnay’s newly-built strawbale winery, we will get to sample all their organic fig, olive and olive oil products along with a wine-tasting before sitting down to a long table lunch together. The menu features organic lamb (from the farm next door, how’s that for provenance?!) or organic root vegetables with labneh as an alternative, served with a glass of organic wine and fig crème brûlée for dessert. Additional wine will be available for purchase by the glass or the bottle.
$897 per person based on double occupancy. Fabulous Singles welcome for an additional $197 to secure own room. We have very limited availability for friends sharing rooms with twin beds.
Return train fare from Sydney Central to Orange; 2 nights’ King Deluxe accommodation in a centrally-located hotel, breakfast inclusive; onboard Sparkling & Pastries breakfast; onboard wine-tasting and cheese platter; all wine-tasting fees; most main meals (except Friday evening at the Festival Night Market) including a welcome lunch on Friday, Devonshire Tea and long table lunch on Saturday, festival dinner Saturday evening, Sparkling Sunday breakfast, morning tea and farewell lunch on Sunday; all bus transfers within the tour itinerary; and local host.
Note: you are very welcome to join the XPT Countrylink train at Strathfield (7.30am), Parramatta (7.42am) or Penrith (8.06am) stations or even at Katoomba (9.00am), just let us know in advance and please arrive at the station at least 15 minutes before the train is due for arrival. We will be in a dedicated carriage at the end of the train, Car G.

Vegetarians are easily catered for as part of the set menus being offered at each of our venues as part of our travel package, and we also happily cater for anyone with genuine food allergies to ensure you can enjoy the experience just as much as your friends.
Please note however – for dietary requests that are a matter of personal choice, such as vegan or gluten-free or a preference for no dairy, there is a 10% surcharge on your tour package cost to cover the extra cost of special meals catering. Why? We have several different caterers throughout our tour itineraries and special meal requests mean a lot of extra effort for everyone behind-the-scenes. The Orange region is currently pest and disease free and we would very much love to keep it that way! If you’re visiting from another wine or agricultural producing region, we would ask that you please ensure that you change footwear, clothing and jackets before joining our tour itinerary. Make sure you keep any items of clothing separate from freshly-washed items in your suitcase, and if you have chickens in your yard please don’t be the person to feed, water or visit them for 24 hours before you visit our region.
