Grab your dancing shoes and a group of your friends, we’re celebrating harvest time and Orange FOOD Week with a traditional Italian polenta party with regional produce and wines!

We have partnered with Rowlee Wines for this special evening of good people, good food, good wine and good times – and we are all pretty thrilled to have local 1920s/30s jazz & blues band, The Honey Drippin’ Mudskippers perform live for our guests.

Dancing throughout the night will be entirely encouraged!

EVER EXPERIENCED AN ITALIAN POLENTA PARTY BEFORE?

It’s all about shared platter between friends, with different toppings on the polenta. Traditionally, everyone stands around a table while the polenta is thrown down the middle of it and it all gets eaten by just digging in with a fork. We’re not going to do that to you here in Australia however, you’ll get plates and cutlery! The polenta will arrive at your table on a shared board, with Mandagery Creek venison & Trunkey Creek pork in a rich tomato sauce, as well as broccolini and anchovies, and creamy, cheesy gorgonzola & walnut toppings.

Our party will be in the brand-new Rowlee Wines cellar door wineshed, and we are throwing the doors open so we can see the stars and let in the fresh Autumn air. As you arrive on the night the music will greet you, along with a complimentary glass of ‘Friends’ wine and shared antipasti platters. We have cleared a space at the front of the room for dancing, so grab a cosy spot for you and your friends and get set for dancing in between courses.

To create a bit of ‘scenography’, Paolo is going to cook the polenta the traditional way in front of you in a big pot on the floor. Usually the whole family would get in and help stir, as it gets quite challenging as the polenta thickens. Feel free to jump in and help if the mood takes you!

Additional wine is available for purchase by the glass or bottle during the evening straight from the cellar door, and our evening will finish off superbly with Paolo’s now famous Tiramisu. We have had previous Pochi ma Buoni guests travel all through Italy to find a Tiramisu that matches Paolo’s nonna’s recipe and it still comes up trumps.

Tickets are just $110 (incl. GST) per person, and include all food, live entertainment and welcome glass of wine. To book your seats contact Nicole at Rowlee Wines on 0409 780 810 – and we’ll see you on the dancefoor!

ABOUT ROWLEE WINES

Rowlee is situated at the foot of Mount Canobolas in Orange NSW, in basalt soils with the highest point at 920 metres located at the Southern end, gradually falling to the North at 900 metres. This fall is of benefit in protection from spring frosts in assisting with the flow of cold air through the vineyard. The site also experiences falls of snow throughout winter – perfect for the production of cool climate wines.

The Rowlee Vineyard has not always been home to grapes, but rather in the mid 1800’s a large grazing property with a holding of 2000 acres. While the original size of the property has been downsized to a picturesque 80 acres, the original homestead, circa 1880’s, is still as grand and maintained as her earliest of days. The 20 acres of vineyard, first planted by Nik and Deonne Samodol in 2000 when the property was purchased, include varieties of Pinot Gris, Chardonnay, Pinot Noir and Riesling, and later expanded to include Nebbiolo, Arneis and Sauvignon Blanc.
