To celebrate the 2016 Orange Wine Festival, for the first time we partnered with Rowlee Wines to offer authentic Italian antipasti platters to accompany this vineyard’s exceptional Italian varietals.
Our ‘Vino e Antipasti’ Sunday afternoons were a huge hit with both locals and visitors to the festival, and we had two packed cellar door days introducing everyone to the fabulous Rowlee Wines portfolio which includes the Italian Arneis and Nebbiolo varietals.
We served a truly authentic ‘piatto freddo’ (cold plate) of tasty morsels, including slices of seasoned and slow-cooked pork (porchetta) and pork belly fat wrapped in sauteed zucchini (because hey, adding in vegetables makes this dish healthy right?!). Slices of fresh pears picked from a local orchard were topped with melted gorgonzola, we had chunks of the classic Italian Provolone cheese there on the share platter and the biggest hit of all was the truffle-infused salami.
